We are pleased to announce that the:
Transportation and Development Institute (TDI),
American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE),
Transportation Research Board (TRB),
National Technical University of Athens,
Hellenic Ministry of Transport and Communications,
will host the:
10th International Conference on Application of Advanced Technologies in Transportation
May 27-31 2008, in Athens GREECE
The importance of transportation to the World's Economy has been deeply and undamentally affected by the development of new generation transportation systems. Systems that are largely based on emerging technologies and that integrate transportation and infrastructure are thus becoming a critical factor for the efficient and safe transportation of people and goods in an increasingly competitive international market. As such, technical innovation is an essential step toward improving transportation infrastructure and providing for more efficient transportation operations. It is important for transportation planners and engineers to meet the dynamic challenges of growing demand in modern day transportation. The Applications of Advanced Technologies in Transportation (AATT) Conference series provides a unique stage for sharing and exchanging research ideas, engineering practice and creating synergies between research and practice. The AATT has received wide attention in the international community, having held conferences in a number of dynamic and exciting locations:
1989-1st AATT |
San Diego, USA |
1991-2nd AATT |
Minneapolis, USA |
1993-3rd AATT |
Seattle, USA |
1995-4th AATT |
Capri, Italy |
1998-5th AATT |
Newport Beach , USA |
2000-6th AATT |
Singapore |
2002-7th AATT |
Boston, USA |
2004-8th AATT |
Beijing, China |
2006-9th AATT |
Chicago, USA |
In the spirit of previous AATT conference cities, Athens, Greece, through the Country's leading Engineering Institution - the National Technical University of Athens - is the host of the 10th AATT Conference. Athens, a modern and fast evolving cosmopolitan European Metropolis was the host City of the Olympic Games of 2004, that left a legacy to Greece and to the world which will remain for generations to come. Being held at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and the Middle East, the conference will attract researchers from all parts of the World in a concentrated effort to promote international synergies and cooperation in the fields of transportation and telematics. These synergies and research efforts will target the fields of advanced technologies, transportation infrastructure, methodological developments and the fusion of the above.
