With the successful completion of the course, students will be able to: know the physical and mechanical characteristics of the rocks and understand the geologic problems related to the instability of slopes, the dam construction and the excavation of tunnels in rock masses.
|Teaching methods||Class lectures. Solve simple examples and problems in class. Discuss case studies in class.|
|Teaching media||Use of blackboard and PowerPoint presentations .|
|Problems - Applications||Yes, in 2-3 classes|
|Other||Students’ participation in the 8-days excursion and field works in major engineering work sites abroad (Italy-France).|
